Barrie Westwell
Barrie started his career as a Chartered Engineer in the North of England, but spent most of his spare time performing in plays cabaret and musicals. When he moved to London he combined all this together and started to work in the theatre.
He was soon performing, staging and managing productions in the UK, Europe, The Far East, Australia and New Zealand.
In the early 80’s he moved into the world of Television working for the BBC in Design Department, Programme Planning and then as a Department Head.
In the early years of Channel 4 he ran an independent production company and then co founded the "International Production House" (IPH) project managing and producing Theatrical Productions, Broadcast Television and Corporate Events for all the major broadcasters in this country, Europe and North America.
There followed a lengthy involvement with large events, promoting and producing such shows as The Gladiators for LWT and a number of high profile live events for Disney at theatres, their parks, arenas and The Albert Hall.
Over the last few years Barrie has returned to performance in the guise of Illusionist and would be singer (in the style of Rex Harrison but without the sophistication). |
