Patrick Ardagh-Walter
Patrick’s roots are in classical music – trained as a violinist, then singing at Oxford, baroque music in London and baroque opera in Versailles. He lived for five years in France and is still unable to walk in a straight line past a good cheese shop.
Patrick has performed as a soloist for BBC Radio 3, Radio France, Swiss Radio and London Sinfonietta as well as modern roles at the Opéra de Lyon, Opéra de Nice, Colmar and Strasbourg.
After some jazz in France, Patrick’s love for the mellower side of music really took off when he spent a few years as bass of the Swingle Singers, performing worldwide in concert halls and stadiums, at La Scala Milan and the Châtelet in Paris. With the group he recorded on pop albums, film soundtracks and music for TV. You can hear him on over 70 CDs, the soundtrack of countless films including Lord of the Rings, the later Star Wars movies, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter, as well as commercials and pop backing. He studies with David Jones in New York and Cathy Pope in England. |
